IMPACD inclusive creativity

Our community organisation champions inclusive movement, participatory arts, and community dance. Our mission is to make our activities accessible to all, and we offer unique and free classes in dance, drumming, mosaic art, and photography. We believe everyone should be able to participate, regardless of their age, ability, nationality, or experience. We welcome individuals with mental health issues, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, as well as LGBTQ+ individuals.

Our commitment to accessibility extends to every aspect, from our website to transportation and physical spaces.

Hello there! We are delighted to invite you to our warm and friendly gathering. We offer tea and biscuits to welcome you from 10 am, so you can unwind, catch up with old friends, and make new ones after your journey to our centre.

At 11:15 am, the fun begins with our engaging activity that lasts for an hour. After that, we’ve got plenty of time for chatting, socialising, and enjoying refreshments in our excellent and inclusive centre.

Our place is wheelchair accessible, and we’ve considered lighting, sound, and layout to make it comfy for everyone. We’re proud to be female-owned and dedicated to providing a safe space where consent is respected, trans-friendly vibes are always present, and everyone can feel right at home.

She graduated with high honours from Trinity Laban in 2022.

She earned a Level 6 diploma in dance teaching and learning.

She improved her skills and learned how dance can change lives.

In 2023, Amanda started a research project at FABRIC, which used to be called dance4.

This gave her the chance to work with expert dance leaders who also believed in inclusivity.

They created a new tool called IMP.

IMP stands for Inclusive Movement Prompt.

IMP helps everyone to use the Laban method of movements.

The Laban method is based on eight movements to express yourself with your body.

She loves helping people to show their feelings, get fit and make new friends through dancing.

She has a deep passion for making arts inclusive.

She has contributed a lot to the field of the teaching and learning of dance.

Amanda continues to push for positive change in community dance.

She is committed to creating a space where everyone can participate.
